Cycle of Lice
Eggs are laid on the hair shaft by the female lice, this is the start of the cycle. The eggs are very sticky and are considered nits; they are also harmless but require combing to remove. The louse emerges from the eggs six to seven days after being laid. It takes approximately ten days for the louse to mature, once matured they can start breeding. And the cycle starts again.
